Inflation/Deflation Mechanics

The CORFLO®-MAX PEG bumper material is polyurethane. It is maintained in its natural expanded shape by a collapsible/expandable polyurethane foam. The tube contains an air lumen which connects the bumper with the outside atmosphere through a small hole near the end of the tube.

During insertion, the bumper collapses to conform to the esophagus.

When the bumper enters the stomach, the foam expands to return the bumper to its expanded shape.

The bumper is held in its fully expanded retention shape by trapping the air in the bumper with the CORLOCK® -CORPORT® Y-Adaptor.

Tube Fixation after Gastric Insertion

  2. a.) Push tube onto adaptor, over barb until tube stop is reached.
b.) Twist skirt on until skirt stop is reached.
  3. Secure tube in groove of fixation device base and slide cover onto base.

Tube Removal*

    b.) Cut off tube.
  2. a.) Lubricate tube and skin around stoma.
